Penile enlargement is a cosmetic surgery performed to extend the length and/or girth of the penis.
What Is The Indication for Penile Enlargement?
Penile enlargement is indicated for patients who feel dissatisfied with the current size of their penis and feel they would benefit psychologically from an enhanced size.
Am I A Candidate for Penile Enlargement?
You may be a good candidate for penile enlargement if:
- You would like to increase the length and/or girth of your penis using surgical techniques.
- You are not prone to scarring problems such as keloids.
- You do not smoke.
- You have a good understanding of the limitations of the procedure.
What Does Penile Enlargement Surgery Involve?
In lengthening a penis, surgery typically involves snipping the suspensory ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone and moving skin from the abdomen to the penile shaft. The suspensory ligament stabilizes and gives an upward tilt to an erect penis. When this ligament is cut, the penis looks longer because more of it hangs outside the body.
To make the penis thicker, the surgery involves suctioning fat from a fleshy part of the body and injecting the fat into the penis. Another technique is to graft fat cut away from the buttocks or abdomen onto the penile shaft.
What Are The Advantages Of Penile Enlargement Surgery?
- Increased self-confidence due to visible results.
How Long Does It Take?
Each procedure (lengthening or widening) takes about 1 - 2 hours but depending on the extent of the procedure, it could take longer.
How Many Treatments Are Required?
Usually one treatment, but additional surgery may be required due to fat resorption after the passage of time.
When Will I See Results?
You should see results after you have had time to heal from the surgery.
What Are My Alternatives?
Liposuction of the pubic fat pad (the area above the base of the penis) can make the penis appear longer.
Will I Have Pain?
There may be some pain or discomfort for a few days after the procedure, but it is easily managed with medication.
When Can I Go Back To Work Or School?
You can usually return to work or school in several days to a week.
