One patient who has found the Lap Band surgery a good fit for her is 49-year-old Valerie.

According to Valerie, she would love to have better health and a better life that offers her more exciting things to do.

"My experience so far has been wonderful and I would recommend it to all my friends," Valerie said. "I tried everything... you name it I tried it. These things just didn't work for me. This has been the best thing for me."

Valerie said she discovered the Lap Band procedure to be the safest thing for her and to date she has lost some 20 pounds. Valerie notes that she can walk further and she breathes better now. She also says that high heel shoes are once again a part of her life.

"I just feel good," Valerie said. "I used to not like to go to sleep because I felt I would get up the next day and ruin my diet. I'm excited about each day and I love life now."

Valerie found the doctors to be there when she needed them. "They are wonderful and very supportive," Valerie said. "They are on the same page with me."

As for her ultimate goal with her weight, Valerie said she would love to reach 145 to 150 pounds.

"I'm the type of person who researches and I found this (Lap Band surgery) to be the best way to go," Valerie continued. "It is the sure way for me to reach my goal. I know I can do it this time."
