Stephnie had the Lap Band procedure done in October of 2008, noting that weight gain and weight losses have been a constant in her life for the last 10 or 15 years.

Looking for an inspiration to help her keep the weight off, Stephnie found it in her 13-month-old grandson. Stephnie found it difficult to get down on the ground play with the little boy, those days appear to be behind her.

"He was an inspiration to me to lose the weight," Stephnie commented. "I wanted to be healthy to be around my daughter and grandson," she added.

As Stephnie sees it, the Lap Band surgery has been a wonderful thing for her. She believes it is the healthiest way to lose weight. "I hope I can be an inspiration all those people who want to have the surgery," Stephnie said.

Stephnie's road to Lap Band surgery began when she heard an ad for it on the radio. From there, she called and made an appointment.

Stephnie's long-term goal is to remain healthy and she believes having had the Lap Band surgery will help her in that success.

To date, Stephnie has lost 23 pounds following the procedure, with more to come. She says with a smile that she wants to be able to fit into the clothes that are hanging up in her closet.

"I feel inspired and this procedure changed my life," Stephnie commented.
