Richard R. came to TopSurgeons in search of answers to his weight loss problems.

Richard had the Lap Band surgery and said he wasn't losing the weight the first couple of months after surgery, but had his band adjusted and since dropped weight.

"After two or three months and a couple of lap band adjustments, sure enough, I started losing the weight," Richard commented. "When my body adjusted and I was following the diet, I dropped 35 pounds and my goal is to lose another 35 pounds. Once I'm there I will be able to say I am happy I went through the surgery."

When it comes to eating, Richard says to watch what you eat, eat slow and exercise. "It has been a slow process, but you have to have a positive attitude and you will lose the weight," Richard commented.

Richard's ultimate goal is to lose another 35 pounds by summertime.

Noting earlier that lap band adjustment is important, Richard said it has now been six or seven weeks since he had an adjustment and he is losing the weight.

Richard also says that he tried different weight loss programs, but for now, Lap Band surgery has proven the answer, noting he would lose weight on another program, but then gain it right back.

"I have more energy, I walk faster and I am going back to what I used to weigh," Richard adds. "I feel better about this as each day goes by. I'm not where I want to be, but I'm getting there."
