Jacques said his eating habits were not under control and he needed to make some changes in his life for his health.

Having been overweight for much of his life, Jacques decided to give Lap Band surgery a try, a decision he now looks back on as a positive one.

"I initially lost about 19 pounds after the first week of my surgery," Jacques commented. "My eating habits are a lot more controlled and I eat what a regular person should be eating now."

Jacques, who hopes to eventually reach 180 or 185 pounds when all is said and done, noted that it took him a few months to decide to go ahead with Lap Band surgery, but knowing it is reversible if he did not like it, Jacques went ahead with the procedure.

"So far it has been pretty good," Jacques remarked. "I was excited to get it done and the recovery was pretty good."
