What Is Radiesse?Radiesse is a long-lasting injectable filler ideal for and treating lines and wrinkles. What Are The Indications?
Am I A Candidate?Those who would like a longer lasting alternative to Collagen or Restylane Replacement Therapy. What Does Radiesse Therapy Involve?Radiesse consists of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a biocompatible gel. It is long lasting and does not require a skin test because it is the same mineral component found in our bones and teeth. By supplementing your skin’s own depleted collagen with Radiesse, we can smoothen out wrinkles and most scars. Your doctor can also improve the appearance of deeper frown lines and nasal furrows. Radiesse is a safe, effective, time-tested, non-surgical wrinkle treatment that provides immediate results. Since the material is a synthetic form of a mineral found in our own bones and teeth (calcium hydroxylapatite), the body does not perceive it as "foreign," and there is no allergic reaction. Therefore, a skin test is not required (as is necessary with bovine-derived collagen). What Are The Advantages?A longer-lasting alternative to Collagen or Restylane Replacement Therapy®, Radiesse offers similar benefits to Collagen or Restylane, i.e., creating fuller lips and filling wrinkles, but the results may last for about a year instead of only months. How Long Does The Treatment Take?20 to 30 minutes How Many Treatments Are Required?Generally 1 but follow up may be necessary to achieved desired results. Will I Have Pain?Most patients are essentially pain free during this procedure. We use the latest technology to minimize any discomfort. We also apply our especially formulated highly effective pre-treatment topical anesthetic cream. This is sufficient for most patients. As an additional measure, we use the Zimmer cold air device, which gently blows cold air against the skin, to facilitate comfort. As every person has a different threshold for pain, for those especially sensitive patients, we have developed other protocols to ensure that the treatment is extremely comfortable and tolerable allowing you to fully enjoy the results without pain. When Can I Go Back To Work Or School?Treatment is so gentle that most patients resume activities right away. There may be some redness which may last one or two days. Can I Be Treated If I Have Dark Skin?This treatment can be used effectively on dark skin.
