Microlaser Peel

The Sciton Microlaser Peel™ is an intra-epidermal laser peel that precisely ablates the outermost layers of the skin.

What Are The Indications Of A Microlaser Peel?

Skin Conditions such as: wrinkles, scars, acne scars, keratoses, or pigmentary problems have been very successfully treated with a Microlaser Peel.

Am I A Candidate for a Microlaser Peel?

The procedure is designed for people who expect better results than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels but have little time for a prolonged healing process.

What Does The Microlaser Peel Procedure Involve?

This advanced Sciton laser skin rejuvenating treatment precisely removes the outer most layer of skin. This removal of the dead layer and the thin layers of the epidermis helps smooth the skin’s surface while blending irregular pigmented age spots at the same time. The MicroLaser PeelTM requires little down time, usually 2-4 days for your skin to heal resulting in smoother skin, smaller pores, and more even skin tone. A series of these gentle peels are as effective as other more invasive laser treatments, but without the weeks of healing time and the risks of permanent pigment loss.

What Are The Advantages of a Microlaser Peel?

Microdermabrasion only removes the stratum corneum ( a depth of 10 microns). The MicroLaserPeel is a partial-to-full epidermal peel (20-50 microns) and is performed with topical anesthetic. Because this procedure ablates deeper into the epidermis, it is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and full skin resurfacing.

How Long Does It Take?

The typical microlaser peels takes from 15minutes to 1hour.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

Depending upon desired results, 2-4 treatments may be necessary.

Will I Have Pain?

Most patients are essentially pain free during this procedure.  We use the latest technology to minimize any discomfort.  We also apply our especially formulated highly effective pre-treatment topical anesthetic cream.  This is sufficient for most patients.  As an additional measure, we use the Zimmer cold air device, which gently blows cold air against the skin, to facilitate comfort.  As every person has a different threshold for pain, for those especially sensitive patients, we have developed other protocols to ensure that the treatment is extremely comfortable and tolerable allowing you to fully enjoy the results without pain.

When Can I Go Back To Work Or School?

You can be back to your normal routine almost immediately, with your skin healed in about 2-4 days.

Can I Be Treated With a Microlaser Peel If I Have Dark Skin?

This treatment can be used effectively on dark skin.  You may be given a special skin treatment regimen by our office.

Who Will Perform My Treatment?

All treatments are performed/supervised by our skilled board certified dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

What Are My Alternatives to a Microlaser Peel?

Though not considered "resurfacing," the following are alternatives to Erbium Laser resurfacing.

How Much Does a Microlaser Peel Cost?
