Colon Cancer Screening
As you get older, a colonoscopy is a routine exam you should have to detect problems in the colon such as polyps, before they become cancerous. Polyps run in families – this condition is called FAP (Familial Adenomatous Polyposis) – and if you have it, you need to be monitored closely for cellular changes. Everyone age 50 should have a colonoscopy, with a follow-up test every 2-3 years thereafter. |
